on 16 april 2013, saudi arabia releases its final draft of plastic food packages regulation "food packages-part2: plastic packages- general requirement". this draft refers to eu plastic regulation 2011/10/eu for plastic used to food contact purpose and the test method en 13130-3 "materials and articles in contact with foodstuffs-plastics substances subject to limitation".
when this final draft comes into enforcement, it would establish general requirements for plastic for food contact including gso testing methods, list of authorized substances, specification migration limits for those authorized. and maybe still have requirements for transportations and storage, labeling requirements.
