the confederation of european paper industries (cepi) has announced a commitment to phase out the use of mineral oils in paper products including food contact materials.
this follows recent concerns about the safety of mineral oils used in printing inks, and an international symposium held by the german federal institute for risk assessment (bfr) to discuss solutions for mineral oil contamination of food from recycled packaging.
