june 25, 2014, the eu issued a of mattress eco-label 2014/391/eu in the official journalto replace the previous 2009/598/ec. the investitive eco-label certificate based on 2009/598/ec is still valid within 12 months after the effective date 2014/391/eu.
in the appendix ,some regulations are made to limit the toxic and harmful volatile organic compounds of the polyurethane (pur) foam, wire and springs, fabrics, glues and adhesives, flame retardantsand mattresses, in addition to the technical performance, dismantling and recycling of materials is also required.
