echa calls for stakeholder to provide additional information on the use of cadmium and cadmium compounds, in particular cadmium-based pigments in plastic materials for the preparation on expanding the restriction of cadmium under reach.
at the beginning of this year, echa initiated a consultation on expanding the cadmium restriction to all plastic materials, and have received only one piece of information about cadmium-based pigments used in plastic materials in the eu. but they believe that there shall have other companies use cadmium-based pigments too. therefore calls for further evidence for revising the cadmium entry.
