on 23 november 2012, eu published a harmonized standard en 50581:2012 to support basic requirements of rohs 2.0 2011/65/eu.
rohs 2.0 requires manufacturers to provide technical documents. and what shall be set forth in a technical document and how to stipulate it are prescribed under en 50581.
basic content of technical document are
1. general description of the product
2. documents for materials, parts and/or sub-assemblies
3. information showing the relationship between the technical documents and the corresponding materials, part and/or sub-assemblies
4. list of harmonized standards and/or other technical specifications that have been used
the above 2 documents for materials, parts and/or sub-assemblies including
1) supplier declarations and/or contractual agreements and/or
2) material declarations and/or
3) analytical test results
steps to prepare technical documents:
determine the information needed à collect the information à evaluate the information à ensure the technical documentation remains valid
steps to stipulate technical documents:
supplier and material confidence assessment à documents for materials, part, and /or sub-assemblies à evaluate of quality and trustworthiness à content of the technical documentation
