as early as in 2010, france has banned bisphenol a baby bottles. on october 12th, 2011, the french national assembly (the house of commons) passed  the bill to ban bisphenol a, forbidden to manufacture, import or export all food packagings, food containers and home appliances contained bisphenol a. the bill was intended to take effect from january 1, 2014 as well as baby food container january 1, 2013. in addition, all products that containing bisphenol a and contacting with food shall be labelled with the "pregnant women and children under 3 years old should not use such products" for containing bpa.

on october 9th 2012, the french senate (the house of lords) passed the food packaging ban, and made a number of amendation. the main modification is putting off  the

effective date from january 1, 2014 to july 1, 2015, and on and after july 1st, 2015 several types of medical instruments containing endocrine disruptors (including bisphenol a)  will be banned too. but effective date of ban to baby food container is not modified.
