the danish minister of environment, karen ellemann wishes to introduce a danish ban on the use of four dangerous phthalates. this is the first time that a ban is based on the cocktail-effect of chemicals. the four phthalates are dehp, dbp, dibp and bbp.
the danish environmental protection agency has submitted a proposal to the european chemicals agency to ban import and sale of products con-taining the four phthalates dehp, dbp, dibp and bbp.
phthalates are a group of substances which are primarily used as plasticizer in pvc，such as shower curtains, vinyl flooring, air mattresses, etc.
